New Ry Cooder & Nick Lowe Dates Added!
Friday, July 31, 2009
Music legends team up for Australian tour.
Ry Cooder & Nick Lowe will share the stage for an evening that showcases their celebrated careers and respective repertoires.

Amongst those accompanying Cooder & Lowe on stage will be Ry’s son, Joachim Cooder on drums, vocalist Juliette Commagere.

Lowe is credited with convincing Cooder to head back out on tour, the seed planted earlier this year when they performed together at a benefit show in San Francisco. A small run of European shows has grown into a tour which now fortunately includes these select Australian dates.

Reviews of the European dates have been glowing:

“If the two stars had been in any doubt of their reception before the show then the standing ovations and the two demands for encores which followed would have made it clear that Edinburgh loved them. “  The Scotsman, UK

“ The evening was a mixture of the old, the new, the borrowed and the definitely blue. Lowe’s silky voice and sharply observed lyrics... and Cooder showed why he’s considered the best slide player in the world…” The Scotsman, UK

“… a set that stirred the memory, surprised with its exuberant rendering of some of the old material and confirmed Cooder’s status as the king of slide guitar.” The Herald, UK
