Jakob Dylan To Release First Solo Album
Friday, June 13, 2008
Jakob Dylan is set to release his first-ever solo album, Seeing Things, released through Sony BMG on 19 July, 2008. On a brief hiatus from platinum-selling, Grammy-winning band The Wallflowers, Dylan and his guitar have created a stripped back production for the new album.
“The Wallflowers are designed for a certain sound, and I needed something different,” says Dylan. “I have a great group, and I want to make more records with them. But I've never had a chance to hear my voice sound this way coming out of the speakers.”
Seeing Things was produced by Rick Rubin (Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay-Z & more) at his home studio in the Hollywood Hills throughout 2007. According to the record company 'Dylan's raw and dynamic performance on this primarily acoustic album reflects the continuation of Rick's spare and compelling production work.'
Seeing Things track listing:
1. Evil Is Alive And Well
2. Valley Of The Low Sun
3. All Day And All Night
4. Everybody Pays As They Go
5. Will It Grow
6. I Told You I Couldn't Stop
7. War Is Kind
8. Something Good This Way Comes
9. On Up The Mountain
10. This End Of The Telescope
Currently on tour in the USA, Dylan and his band took to the stage recently with his band The Gold Mountain Rebels, to perform the new material in front of a small group of fans in LA for Yahoo! Music.
